If you have ever visited Miami’s South beach, you know of the many fine restaurants that are dotted along the famous Ocean drive. But tucked inside of the trendy Townhouse boutique hotel off Collins Ave is quite clearly an exceptional jewel.
Bond St Lounge is renowned around the world as a South Beach hot spot for a fusion of Asian and European flavors and it’s sumptuous tasting of fresh sushi. My guest and I walked into an intimate and sensual setting. Muted lighting, with sleek sophisticated furnishings set the ambiance. The manager, Mark Fernandes suggested several inspired entrees to please our palates.
We started off with:
- Miso Clam soup- distinctive blends of traditional Miso soup and plump clams simmered in a hearty broth.
- Japanese Madai Carpaccio- a delectable fine fish, expertly shaved to transparency, layered with pungent, spicy garlic, tomato sauce. Simply delicious.
- Seaweed salad in a remarkable sesame orange dressing. Flavorful and satisfying
- Tuna Tarts- shaved layered tuna drizzled with smoky truffle oil on crisp pan-fried flat wonton shells Pizza style. I was in seventh heaven and in a state of euphoria. The truffle oil set this simple yet complexed entrée with it’s smoky aroma, and earthy surprisingly exotic essence.
- Lobster Tempura Roll- tomato chili aioli sauce that stimulated your tastes buds.Select fresh, grade 1 pieces of chunky Blue Fin Chu Toro, Yellow Tail, and Japanese Amberjack Sashimi.
- Tuna Avocado in a crispy wonton- Fresh chopped tuna in a crisp wonton taco style, layered with a refreshing citrus, tomato salsa, avocado and a dollop of sour cream topped with caviar. Incredibly light and unique in its presentation.
And finished with:
- Decadent Rich chocolate cake with a molten lava liquid center, the cake is so light it melts literally in your mouth, liquid desire, served with a scoop of vanilla bean Madagascar, ice cream.
This is the perfect place to enjoy a tantalizing meal, and relax in a sophisticated and sexy atmosphere. I look forward to visiting again.
