With so many delightful restaurants to go to, in Florida, it makes it difficult to choose just one. But when my mother and sister recently visited me, I knew they had to experience the sophistication of the Paris Bistro Park Avenue restaurant, in the heart of Old Winter park- Park Ave in northern Orlando, Florida. The restaurant reminds you of the ritzy bistros that influence the scenic ambiance of Champ De Elysee in Paris, France. Deep Rich colors, with a great vaulted banyan tree (yes a tree inside) laced with twinkling lights sets the ambiance of this well know establishment. It was a pleasant afternoon when we arrived, so we requested to eat outside for brunch and was immediately seated at a pleasant table placed under a shady tree and umbrella. A wonderful location to sit and people watch. The waiters were attentive and charming and knew the menu well. Upon tasting the peach infused sparkletini wine, I knew our taste buds were in for a treat.
We started off our meal with:
- Salade Mixte Avec Croissant au Chevre Chaud
- Crispy, flaky goat cheese croissant perched on a large Bistro Salad with
- Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Carrots, cucumbers tossed with a Herb Vinaigrette. The sharp tang of goat cheese baked into a buttery croissant made the salad unique.
- Croque Madame – Warm French ham and cheese sandwich with an egg. Toasted to perfection, light and delicious. Topped with a creamy rich béchamel sauce. Perfection.
- Crepes du Jou r- Light, airy warm crepes filled with a savory blend of chicken and delicate mushrooms enveloped in a delightful sherry cream sauce. Phenomenal.
- Each of our meals was served with distinctive Au Gratin potatoes.
We finished with dessert:
- Crème Brulee – Remarkably made, authentically French, silky with a vanilla bean soaked caramelized crust.
- Dessert of the day – Crepes stuffed with fruit then drizzled with a decadent duo of warm semi sweet cocoa chocolate and white chocolate. Sinful
Paris Bistro Park Avenue also offers an extensive wine list and full service catering with distinctive menus to meet your needs. When the staff say “Bon Appetit” I know they mean it. I can’t wait to return for another authentic French dining experience.
