HUE, A Restaurant

There’s a lot more to Orlando than Disney, so while visiting Orlando, I was keen on having lunch at a restaurant called “The Hue”. The name itself gives you a glimpse into the historic, trendy and hip culture of Thornton Park, downtown Orlando.

The Hue is stylishly decorated with subdued warm natural colors reminiscent of SoHo, NY and SoBe, Miami. This popular eatery is an ideal gathering place for the cool, upbeat and chic.

The menu changes week to week and I was delighted to see an eclectic array of artful creations. I ordered 2 small plates and snacked on fresh hot French rolls and light crisp bread with a creamy cheese pimento spread while waiting for my meal. Crispy Oysters- Plump oysters enveloped in a deep-fried crispy panko coating topped off with Dollops of tangy chili garlic mayo layered with wasabi caviar. Just enough spice to make it pop. Each morsel was served in a Chinese soup spoon displayed on the plate. Ingeniously delicious.

Super Lump Pan Asian Crab Cakes- The crab cakes where filled with chunks of crab, and seared golden brown. Although the cakes seemed a bit dense it was enhanced by a smoky sesame hoison sauce and uniquely spun crisp beets. Scrumptious!

If you ever get the opportunity to explore Orlando, be sure to visit Thornton Park and experience for your self the dining pleasure of The Hue. I know I’ll be back for dinner and Happy Hour.
