When we think of beauty whether it be female or male we usually think of facial beauty. We do not discern between ethnicities. When it comes to our skin care regimes it is often the mistake of many people to believe that the beauty products reflect this. However the pharmaceutical companies market for a particular facial makeup. This was reflected in the past with beauty cosmetics up until the 70′s. Consumers often used the same creams or powders that pharmaceuticals fashioned from the white population. Well it is well known that there are significant differences in Ethnic skin. Black skin has a natural SPF. This is almost 5 times greater than in white skin.
This is why most dark skinned individuals do not turn red when tanned. And yes they can tan. I remember my skin peeling the first time I hit the Florida beaches. My sister thought it was strange as she never peeled. She had darker skin. I just read that Blacks would be less likely to buy this anti-wrinkle, anti-ageing products. This is true. I am one of those people in particular who never understood why my lighter skinned friends all scrambled for the latest L’Oreal product which claims to make you look 16 again. So aging is delayed in black skin. Well if you are not content with dark skin, at least there is some good news, although your discontent is another issue altogether which needs to be addressed.
The studies show that if your skin is nourished, then it has a better chance at resisting for a longer period of time. So if you are looking to treat your particular skin type and not skin type in general, then you need to find the products best suited for you. Alcohol and excessive mineral oils in products can actually diminish the skins texture after time. The latest products for evening out skin tones for dark skinned women are skin lighteners. They have made significant improvements in regards to skin lighteners in the US. Europe has always had much more advanced skin care products for Dark skinned women. I remember a friend bringing them from France and Germany. I was annoyed that they did not have some of these products her in the States.
There are many different skin lighteners out there. You have to be careful though, as some products can cause more damage than good. Some ingredients may leave the face red, with blotches or rashes, some may even cause inflammation. I have been using a product, Meladerm, which I got free. It was one of those buy now if you like we will charge your card. I canceled way ahead of the usual 30 day results because I figured none of these products really work that well at least not enough for the price tag ($50). They were nice enough to cancel my account and told me to keep the bottle. I thought okay, it’s got some good stuff in it and it is somewhat expensive, so I didn’t throw it away. Well low and behold, it worked pretty well, I mean i don’t look like I have makeup or in a Maybelline commercial, but it did moderately even out my skin tone. No irritation, no weird smell, no greasy/oily residue. I did use it religiously, twice a day.
I used it for 2 months. Oh I just recently bought "RX for brown skin" by Dr. Susan Taylor. I don’t know if I see any significant changes using the "RX Radiant skin” product. It is supposed to even out the skin tone. Lots of people have great results. However, I noticed that i seem to be breaking out a lot more. I don’t know if other variables are at play so I can’t say for sure it is the result of the product. I paid $8 for it at TJMax. I think it costs around $15. I notice a popular product out there is "Makari" It is supposed to be all natural. However some people report breakouts. So I didn’t even bother trying it. If you don’t have issues with breakouts then maybe you should do a little research on this product. Always research a product before buying it.
I just learned they actually have skin lightening creams that help even out skin tone. Okay. I can try that, I am not to keen on swallowing pills, But Maybe I will try it. The products are said to have glutathione, like "L-Glutamine", which contains 1000mg of glutathione. "Oralight" is another Lightening pill which instead of Glutathione, it contains vitamin C, Vitamin A, Bearberry extract and other key ingredients. I think I am going to try the "L-Glutamine". It should cost around $24.99.
There are a lot of French products, but the price is way too high. I will try the skin lightening pills and will let you know if it worked with an updated article on Black Skin care.
